Clive Lonsdale

Professional Yacht Delivery Captain

Clive grew up on the creeks of Hayling Island on Chichester Harbour. His father was a keen sailor, and from an early age he fell in love with the sea and sailing. Clive started his sailing career in his late teens aboard several fishing boats on the SE Australian coast.

After returning to Europe he worked aboard, cruising and racing yachts. In his twenties he continued to sail all over the world including racing the winning yacht on the Parmelia Race with Skip Novak and crew from Plymouth UK to Cape Town to Perth WA.

After many yacht deliveries and races in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, Clive started skippering racing yachts in the Caribbean and USA. He also became interested in film, photography and environmental issues.  Clive has also worked in the UK film industry, filming wildlife and environmental projects all over the world which he has been able to combine with sailing.

Clive filmed and skippered a 63ft yacht over a three-year period from Auckland to the Russian side of the Bering Strait on the Arctic Circles, finishing up in Vancouver.
