09th Oct 2016; Arrived Canaries. Captain reports;

just want to get your opinion regarding the behaviour of our autopilot.
Even when motoring in a flat calm it keeps making minimal (~1°) but rapid (~2 per second) movements port and stb of the centerline. It I “sawing”, sometimes so abruptly it is sending a shudder through the steering system.
Obviously I adjusted everything I could to all possible extremes, no difference. Also, since the boat has no chart plotter options are limited.
I have never observed such behaviour before. Can it be considered normal?
