Yacht Tracking

We are the logistics manager for many of the world fleet operators and private yacht owners. Our clients need to know where their yachts are. We need to be able message the boat with updates, charter bookings, changes of destination, receive technical data. For a variety reasons it can be important that clients know the location of their yachts and through us have contact with them. The nature the business means that yachts are out of cell phone range, AIS may not be fitted and satellite phones can accrue high airtime charges. What do we do?

Over the years Reliance Yacht Management has addressed this challenge in several ways, making the use of the latest technology as it develops. It has now become accepted as imperative that there is connectivity wherever they may travel. We need to understand the exact location of our clients’ yachts at all times regardless of location.

Satellite technology is key to yacht tracking. There are a variety of hardware units that work with asset management software so yacht owners and fleet operators can chose the one that suits their budget and their business needs. Some software can track positions every 30 seconds. It is easy to install and accessible from all kinds of devices

Features available through asset tracking software vary by manufacturer, but could include some helpful options. Geo-fences are an example. You can set up a geo-fence and know when an asset has entered or exited the perimeter you set up. A useful feature for bareboat charter companies not wishes yachts to leave their designated cruising area.  You can also improve safety and security by establishing exceptions and receiving alerts that signal suspicious behaviour.

We are able to integrate the online tracking within the clients website or create a secure page within our site for clients to monitor the progress of their yacht on delivery.

We’ve got the solutions that will help keep your yacht safe.

Yacht Tracking All Over the World

Reliance Yacht Management Provides Security & Assurance to Yacht Owners

It used to be not too long ago that Owners would hand over the keys of their yacht plus a bunch of money to a delivery captain, who then sailed off into the sunset with it all not knowing if and when they will see either again.

Fortunately things have moved on and Reliance Yacht Management is able to provide regular position reports through their tracking systems giving their clients much needed reassurance and charter operators a tool to manage their fleets more efficient and securely.

One system that is low costs, simple to use and easily transferable in the Spot Gen3 tracker

Anyone who travels by land, sea and air! Since its launch, SPOT’s satellite technology has provided peace of mind by helping initiate more than 2,500 rescues and counting and providing GPS tracking services. Over the past five years, recreational outdoor enthusiasts, athletes, government agency employees, National Geographic explorers and photographers, and researchers are just some of the people that have benefited from using SPOT.

The screen shot shows some of the yachts on delivery today with us using this system.

The Spot3 and other security devices are available through our store

Sunreef 74 Completes Delivery to Florida

yacht,71,sunreef74wildberry-exterior-03Wildberry, the first Sunreef 74 completes delivery to Florida. She arrived yesterday in Ft Lauderdale to complete its 6000 nm delivery from the yard in Poland.
During the 42 day voyage there were planned stopovers in France and Madeira. At each stage the captain created technical reports which gave valuable feedback to the builders.

The builders, the brokers and most importantly, the Owner were able to follow progress of the delivery via a secure dedicated webpage created by Reliance Yacht Management that gave live updates, positions, speed, weather charts and reports from the captain and shore based support.
On arrival and handover in the Florida the Owner’s representative made the comment, “The boat looks good, everyone has done a great job.”

The Owner later said

Nick, we were on the boat yesterday and it looks great. Your delivery crew did a great job of taking care of it. Captain N is a first class delivery captain and I’d highly recommend him to anyone for a delivery. I was especially pleased to see that you took care of the boat as if it was his own and would deliberately slow his delivery time to avoid pushing the boat more than it should be.
The thoroughness of his delivery report with the “squawks” of what is broken or may warrant attention, including potential improvements, was exactly what I was hoping for.
Nick, if you every need a recommendation for your company or this particular delivery crew; I’d be happy to provide one.
thanks
B.

Appointing a Yacht Delivery Company

Employing someone to deliver your yacht has hidden advantages for new boat owners who join the delivery for all or part of the voyage.  Most notably is the chance to learn on a one to one basis from experienced, qualified captains and crew. A captain who has specific experience of Biscay for example can provide an element of safety and reassurance. It also provides the ideal opportunity to learn about and operate the yacht’s complex systems. (more…)

New Lagoon Catamarans Delivered

Reliance Yacht Management completes the delivery of two new Catamarans across the Atlantic.

We are proud to announce the recent handover of a Lagoon 52 to a major yacht Charter company in the Virgin island after an Atlantic crossing from the CNB factory in Bordeaux. Since 1987, CNB has been building sailing and motor yachts in aluminium and high tech composite from up to 200′. With more than 90 boats delivered.

The second catamaran delivered lagoon 450this month for the same client is a Lagoon 450 and  has just arrived in Ft Lauderdale.

Both yachts had the extra challenge of making the delivery during the hurricane season. The risks however were minimised by the use of satellite tracking and two-way communications through sat phones. This enabled shore based weather support to provide the Captains with the latest meteorological data and forecasts.
