FROM October, Reliance Yacht Management will no longer be offering yacht delivery services. 

Reliance Yacht Management will continue to offer consulting and management services on selected projects, however after 30 years in business, the company will be scaling back its services. 

Founded in 1988 by Nick Irving, Reliance Yacht Management has been a pillar of the yachting industry, delivering and managing yachts around the world for over 30 years. 

Reliance Yacht Management has worked for private and commercial clients, including The Catamaran Company, Navaboats, and Groupe Beneteau. 

Managing Director, Nick Irving, began his career as a yacht delivery captain, delivering boats himself before establishing Reliance Yacht Management as a streamlined, centralised approach to global yacht delivery. 

‘It’s very humbling to see where we all started and how much we have all grown and progressed within the yachting industry, because of Reliance Yacht Management.’

When initially beginning deliveries, 30 years ago, Reliance reported delivering 50-60 boats each year. The majority were monohulls, moving from Europe to the Caribbean, USA and around the Pacific. Last year Reliance completed 350 delivery contracts to destinations worldwide, with the majority being catamarans.

Reflecting on the upcoming changes at Reliance Yacht Management, Hugh Murray, President of The Catamaran Company said that “Nick managed to take one of the most complicated parts of the yachting business, for those selling and chartering boats, and made it simple for us.” 

Yann Masselot, CEO of Groupe Beneteau, commented “Reliance became a serious actor in our industry.” 

Sergije Plavsa at Navaboats said he was ‘happy’ for Nick, but jokingly asked if Reliance could ‘hold out for another 10 years before ending deliveries’.

Reliance Yacht Management will continue to operate as a company, but will be scaling back its operations to consulting and management services on selected projects.
