Latest Lagoon 560 Catamaran Delivered

Leading Yacht delivery Captain Andy Mallion has just completed the delivery of the latest Lagoon 560 catamaran from the factory in Bordeaux.

After battling the rigours of the Bay of Biscay the new catamaran arrived in the Hamble just ahead of the weather front where she was thoroughly cleaned and prepared for handover to another happy client.

As always the crew protect the boat and cover all vulnerable areas.

A big thank you to Andy and his crew for another excellent yacht delivered.

Yacht Deliveries at a Time of Financial Uncertainty

At a time of financial uncertainty, why has there been such an increase in yacht deliveries?

DSCF0031.JPGThe demand for our services has not been at such a high level for many months and a substantial increase from the same time last year. There are several reasons why this is the case and why now has never been a better time to consider moving your yacht.

We have seen a dramatic change in the market and the motivation why many yacht owners are contracting with Reliance. While new yacht sales are down, brokerage is very bouyant.  Money is always a good motivator and especially nowadays in this econimic downturn. Several factors are influencing our clients and the benefits received from moving their yacht. As always boat sales are a major influence in the delivery market.

The present low value of Sterling against the US Dollar and the Euro in particular means that brokerage yachts in the UK have become very attractive to overseas clients. Combine this with the worldwide fall in boat prices means that buyers are getting some excellent deals and particularly in the UK. All these yachts need to be delivered home to their new owners safely and good condition.

We are also seeing an increase in vendors that are keen to move their yachts to where they will be seen and attract more attention. A yacht available for viewing in Palma is likely to be viewed by more prospective buyers than the same yacht in Panama or Dubai. An owner that is keen to sell should take a good look at where to place their yacht. We know that some brokers are concerned that they do not have sufficient boats listed to meet their inquiries.

We are seeing plenty of activity in the market albeit with reduced prices and margins. Clients are more accutely aware than ever before of getting the best service for their money and Reliance is responding to this demand. It’s by listening to our clients needs and looking at the small details that makes our service great.

Reliance Yacht Management in 2015

2015

Here is a preview on what you can expect from Reliance Yacht Management in 2015:
• We start the year with a busy January with visits to Sunreef catamarans in Poland as well as the London and Dusseldorf boat Show.
• The Eastern Mediterranean looks like it will be a bumper year for the delivery of new yachts. We are already signing contracts for March through to May.
• Demand for safety and coding equipment for charter yachts looks to expand in both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
• We also hope to make a press announce in the next month regarding a new business alliance with an established yachting company in the Med. Stay tuned for more details.

We wish you all a prosperous 2015

Appointing a Yacht Delivery Company

Employing someone to deliver your yacht has hidden advantages for new boat owners who join the delivery for all or part of the voyage.  Most notably is the chance to learn on a one to one basis from experienced, qualified captains and crew. A captain who has specific experience of Biscay for example can provide an element of safety and reassurance. It also provides the ideal opportunity to learn about and operate the yacht’s complex systems. (more…)

In Praise of our Clients

In praise of our client; “we couldn’t do it without them.”

We are accredited ISO9001 for our business standards including customer service and safety procedure – and we are very chuffed about it. We have also worked with our wonderful clients to help us become even better. Over the next few weeks we will be highlighting a few of our valued corporate clients that we have assisted and say a big thank you for their continued support.

HYC logoHorizon Yacht Charters was established in the British Virgin Islands in 1998 and since then has been offering world class sailing at our bases in the Caribbean and USA. From those early days Reliance yacht management was the preferred delivery company and we continue to work closely with them to this day. Our range of services provided have grown beyond just yacht delivery. We now supply equipment to help them comply with charter regulations as well as provide orientation and  assisted passages for new Owners.
